Even this time we had the luck to be able to by a car from the first owner. The woman we bought the car from is 91 years old. She and her husband bought this car in -78 when it was new.
Although they have been very careful with the car, washed it and stored it in a garage, there were rust on it.
Packo has now fixed it all. You can see some images of it below.
This went on all around the car. Now it is totally free from rust.
Then it was time to rebuild the drivetrain. The automatic gearbox is now replaced with a manual and of course the engine is now a diesel engine.
Even this time it is a VW 1,9 D engine from a Skoda Felicia Pickup -01.
The Lucas pump was thrown away and he installed a Bosch instead. Det har gjort en del uppgraderingar på motorn både på bränslefronten och luftfronten.
VW engine and Volvo M47 gearbox mounted together and ready to go in to the car.
A lot more hours later it looks like this…
He has also built and mounted engine brackets, gearbox brackets and welded the cardan.
Even the intercooler had to be home made to fit in. 🙂
The drivetrain is now complete and the car have been out for a test drive. 😀
Now the car is repainted. Original colour but matt.
The name of the colour is, Tikurilla Temadur 10.
This is what it looks like in the trunk.
The rims (Yrodell) is now at place and the rear bumper as well.
This is how the engine looks.
The car right now.
The white lip under neath the front bumper will also be painted soon.
Packo just tested to mount the bumpers to see how they fit on the car.
Here is a couple of photos of the interior as well. The interior is from another 240.
